November 2015 will see an Antarctic expedition of dual discovery, as Chimu Adventures is set to lead travellers on an extraordinary polar journey, all in support of the McGrath Foundation.
The ‘PinKtarctica’ voyage, which will take place over 12 days, will allow travellers to explore the magic of the Antarctic Peninsula, whilst supporting the McGrath Foundation’s mission to raise money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and to increase breast awareness in young Australians.
Travellers aboard the expedition will be joined by special guests: McGrath Foundation Ambassador and Director, Tracy Bevan, and renowned Australian Artist, Ken Done.
McGrath Foundation Ambassador and Director, Tracy Bevan, says she is absolutely thrilled to be involved in such an incredible voyage, a fundraiser she believes will go a long way in helping the Foundation ensure every family in Australia experiencing breast cancer has access to a breast care nurse no matter where they live or their financial circumstance.
“We are proud to have funded 100 McGrath Breast Care Nurses working nationally, who together have supported over 25,000 families experiencing breast cancer in Australia. Remarkable events like PinKtarctica will truly help us to continue to make a difference.”, Tracy said.
Chimu Adventures Director, Greg Carter, says the Chimu team are extremely excited to be launching the PinKtartica expedition, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity which will allow travellers to give back to a great cause, all whilst enjoying the breathtaking magic of the Antarctic region.
“We’re thrilled to be supporting the McGrath Foundation and raising funds to support those families experiencing breast cancer in Australia. Chimu Adventures was founded with the vision to give back to the community and make a difference through its expeditions – and we believe this voyage is a fantastic opportunity to do just this.”
“PinKtartica will take place aboard the Sea Adventurer, a perfect expedition ship for people who enjoy soft adventures and creature comforts. All cabins have outside views and facilities en suite, allowing travellers to be greeted by abundant wildlife, towering icebergs and breathtaking horizons.” Greg said.
