Cruise and Maritime Voyages is excited to announce another addition to its growing fleet – Columbus.
The 1400-passenger ship is the fleet-mate of Astor, who Australian cruisers know well, having home-ported in Fremantle for the past three season (and having recently released her brochure for a fourth summer Down Under in 2016/17). The announcement also follows CMV’s purchase of Magellan in March, 2015.
Columbus may also be familiar to the fast-growing Australian cruise public, as she has previously sailed in the Southern Hemisphere as Pacific Pearl.
Columbus will initially be based in the UK, with itineraries from London Tilbury commencing in June, 2017. Her addition will increase CMV UK’s capacity to 95,000 and its global ocean carryings to 125,000 guests.
Of her 775 passenger cabins, 75 per cent have ocean views and there are also 64 De Luxe balcony cabins. Also, 150 cabins have been allocated for single travelers.
The ship underwent an extensive refit in August, 2015 and offers five dining options, two specialist coffee and tea shops, two desk bars and seven lounge bars, including a British Pub.
She also boasts six entertainment venues, including the three-decked central Atrium and two-decked Palladium Show Lounge.
CMV’s anticipated 2017 cruise programme will be available to book from March 31.
