The largest colony of king penguins resides in South Georgia, and is one of the many wildlife highlights to be seen on Canadian cruise specialist, One Ocean Expeditions’ (OOE) voyages as the Antarctic winter ends and spring breaks out in October/November.

The 19-night Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Antarctica cruise, (departing on October 31) will take amateur photographers on a memorable photographic journey. South Georgia In Depth voyage- a seldom-visited corner of the planet, begins in Stanley on the Falkland Islands, before boarding the Akademik Sergey Vavilov to cross the South Atlantic to South Georgia Island. The trips takes travelers on life changing journeys to King Haakon Bay, where legendary explorer Shackleton and his team made landfall 100 years ago, Salisbury Plain, with its black sand beaches and staggering numbers of penguins, the Specially Protected Area of Prion Island, where wandering albatross come to breed, and the impressive three-mile long fjord at Fortuna Bay are all among the highlights of this voyage.

Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Antarctica ( November 19 – December 16) – the inclusion of a flight to Stanley in this itinerary saves passengers almost 1.5 days travelling at sea, allowing 17 nights for the voyage without losing any of the classic locations. The itinerary takes in the sub-Antarctic Falkland Islands and South Georgia before heading south to the frozen continent, with it’s stunning icebergs, humpback, minke and orca whales.
Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Antarctica (October 31- November 19) – due to popular demand, a photographic symposium have been added to this itinerary for the first time. The 19-night voyage, which begins in Ushuaia and ends in Stanley, allows an extra day’s exploration in Antarctica, as well as the added bonus of several photographic experts on board to offer guidance and answer questions.
Prices start from US$8,995 per person in a quad private cabin and from US $15,395 per person (including the travel credit) in a twin cabin with private bathroom.
