SAGA Ruby’s final 109-day World Cruise has
been delayed due to issues with the ship’s
crank shaft.
The 655-passenger ship was due to depart
Southampton on 07 January, but was delayed
only hours before setting sail, due to the
discovery of the faulty crank shaft.
“We are deeply sorry to all our customers
affected,” said Saga Cruises’ chief executive
Robin Shaw.
“The failure was identified through routine
maintenance,” he added.
The cruise line has said that it expects the
repairs to take up to ten days to complete, and
is offering affected passengers a full refund.
