Cunard, P&O Cruises UK restructured.
Carnival Corporation in the UK has just announced that Cunard Line md Peter Shanks and Carol Marlow, md of P&O Cruises World Cruising, are set to leave the company under a “new commercial leadership structure”.
Under the changes, both brands will report into Chief Commercial Officer Gerard Tempest, with two new marketing director roles also having been created, one for P&O Cruises World Cruising and one for Cunard.
There’s also a new ‘insight director’ position covering both brands, in addition to existing roles of international development director, sales & customer services director and commercial director which serve both brands.
Carol Marlow has been with the organisation for 16 years and has led a number of brands including Swan Hellenic, Princess Cruises UK, Cunard and P&O Cruises World Cruising.
And Shanks joined the business in 2002 and has held leadership roles within Cunard, Ocean Village and Princess Cruises UK.
As a result of the changes, David Dingle formallly assumes the titles of CEO Cunard Line and CEO P&O Cruises, while the managing director roles for both brands will cease to exist.
Tempest said “this is an exciting time for our brands and this new structure has been designed to deliver the many opportunities ahead of us”.
