NORWEGIAN Cruise Line’s newest vessel,
Norwegian Breakaway (currently under
construction in the Meyer Werft shipyard in
Germany), will be homeported year round in
New York, beginning after her launch events in
May 2013.
The 144,017-tonne Breakaway will be the
largest vessel ever homeported in New York,
and will sail a total of 22 seven-day voyages
from the port departing on Sundays between
May and October 2013.
Breakaway will be joined by Norwegian Gem
which is scheduled to make 47 calls into New
York in 2013, whilst Norwegian Star will make
15 calls (before being replaced by Norwegian
Breakaway).
It is expected Breakaway’s presence will
bring around 144,000 passengers into NYC
over a two year period.
