Norwegian Cruise Line has been named “Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Line” by the World Travel Awards for the second consecutive year.
The 21st annual awards are voted on by travel professionals and consumers from around the globe and honor the world’s top travel companies for outstanding products and services. Norwegian, which has been voted Europe’s Leading Cruise Line for seven consecutive years as well as the World’s Leading Large Ship Cruise Line, has ten spectacular Freestyle Cruising vessels sailing the Caribbean this winter from five convenient departure ports, including Norwegian Getaway, the line’s newest ship and the largest ship to sail to the Caribbean year-round from Miami, and Norwegian Jewel, sailing from Houston for the first time since 2007.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the second year in a row,” said Kevin Sheehan, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “Norwegian was the first to cruise to the Caribbean 48 years ago, and this award today is a testament to our hard-working crew, incredible ships and the freedom and flexibility that only a Norwegian cruise offers to guests sailing the Caribbean.”
Guests can cruise aboard Miami’s Ultimate Ship, Norwegian Getaway, as she sails seven-day cruises to the Eastern Caribbean from her year-round homeport of Miami. The line’s newest ship visits tropical ports of call including Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Nassau, Bahamas. Guests will be dazzled by the ship’s Miami flair, exceptional dining and entertainment as well as the excitement of 678 Ocean Place and The Waterfront, a variety of interconnected indoor and outdoor venues on three dynamic decks that creates a multiplex of dining, activities and more that enhance guests’ connection with the ocean.
Between November 9, 2014 and April 12, 2015, guests can enjoy cruises on board Norwegian Epic, Norwegian’s largest ship to date and named the “Best Ship for Sea Days” by Cruise Critic and “Best Overall Cruise Ship” by the readers of Travel Weekly two years in a row. Guests will sail from Miami to sunny Western Caribbean destinations including Ocho Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico.
Other ships sailing the Caribbean from Miami include Norwegian Pearl, offering various cruises to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean or the Bahamas; and Norwegian Star, sailing the Panama Canal.
Vacationers in Tampa, New York City and New Orleans can also cruise to the Caribbean on Norwegian. Vacationers looking to cruise from Tampa can set sail on board Norwegian Sun to the Western Caribbean. Norwegian Gem offers spectacular nine-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from New York City while Norwegian Breakaway, the ship that brings the best of NYC to Sea, offers guests the chance to cruise from the Big Apple to the Bahamas & Florida. In the Big Easy, guests can cruise to the Western Caribbean on Norwegian Dawn, departing weekly to Cozumel; Belize City; Roatan; and Costa Maya, starting November 23, 2014.
Making her debut in Houston, the recently-refurbished Norwegian Jewel offers seven-day Western Caribbean cruises through April 11, 2015, including the brand new port of Trujillo on Honduras’ beautiful and untouched Banana Coast.
