Australian cruising specialist, Cruise Express, is offering an exclusive, 24-night luxury cruise tour that will take travellers from Cuba to Ecuador, where 13 days will be spent exploring the Andes, the world’s tallest volcanoes, pristine jungle and Ecuador’s famous Galápagos Islands.
The unique tour, starting on October 12, 2016, features two, fully-inclusive, five-star cruises. The first is an 11-night journey aboard the 132-guest Silver Explorer from Nassau in the Bahamas to the time-warped country of Cuba. The second cruise is a seven-night sailing aboard the 100-guest Silver Galápagos, from which travellers will be able to see the endemic wildlife that inspired Charles Darwin. The two boutique ships have been chartered especially for Australians on this tour.
All cabins on both Silversea ships are spacious, ocean-view suites boasting marble bathrooms, fine bed linen, flatscreen TVs and butlers. Onboard, guests are pampered by award-winning cuisine curated by Relais and Chateaux, complimentary beverages and personalised service, with an unrivalled, staff-to-guest ratio of nearly one-to-one.
The first 11-night cruise aboard the Silver Explorer will begin in Nassau and visit four ports in Cuba, including the colonial and cosmopolitan capital of Havana, famous for its classic cars and locals’ love for music and dancing. At the end of the cruise in Panama, guests will be flown to Ecuador for a six-night land tour from the capital, Quito, renowned as the best preserved colonial city in Latin America.
After visiting the ‘Middle of the World’ equator line, travellers will explore the famous ‘Avenue of the Volcanoes’, where travellers can see the Cotopaxi Volcano, which, at 5897m, is the highest active volcano in the world. Guests will then experience one of Ecuador’s most popular tourist attractions, the Devil’s Nose Train, which zigzags its way up the steep Andes landscape, offering spectacular vistas. The land tour of Ecuador will conclude in the city of Cuenca, known for its cobblestone streets, flowery plazas and museums, before the adventure continues onto Ecuador’s World Heritage-listed Galápagos Islands.
The seven-night Galápagos cruise aboard Silver Galápagos will explore the stunning landscapes and unique wildlife for which the archipelago is famous. Marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, Darwin’s finches and the Galápagos giant tortoises, which can weigh up to 250kg, are just some of the amazing animals that guests will be able to encounter in their natural habitat.
The 24-night Cuba, Ecuador and the Galápagos package incorporates a combined 18 nights of cruising with all meals, most beverages, land excursions, gratuities and taxes included. Six nights of touring in Ecuador includes accommodation, meals and sightseeing tours. Connecting flights from Panama to Quito and between Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands are included as part of the package.
Starting in the Bahamas on October 12, 2016, the package costs from A$23,895 per person, twin-share. Return flights from Australia are additional and can also be booked through Cruise Express.
