REPORTS that two Princess vessels sailing in
the US had to turn around and return to port
due to a mass contagion of norovirus are
wrong, according to a spokesperson for the
cruise line.
The reports appear to spring from a
gastrointestinal illness which broke out
onboard a recent Crown Princess voyage, but
which did not cause the end of the cruise, and
an outbreak of the Norovirus onboard a recent
Ruby Princess cruise which struck down 90 guests.
In both cases Princess initiated additional
enhanced sanitation procedures to interrupt
the person-to-person spread of this virus, and
continued cruising as scheduled.
