With less than 30 days to go until the historic arrival of Ovation of the Seas to her new Australian home port, Royal Caribbean has announced pop sensation Dami Im will be a special guest on the SuperCruising vessel when she arrives in Sydney, delivering an exclusive performance at the ship’s inaugural arrival event.
The newest, biggest and most technologically advanced cruise ship to ever sail Australian waters will make her Sydney debut on Thursday 15th December after a 10-night tour around the bottom of Australia with calls to Fremantle on 6th of December, Adelaide on 11th December and Hobart on 13th December.
“We are now less than 30 days away from Ovation of the Seas’ Australian debut. The US$1 billion dollar ship will challenge everything you thought was possible on a cruise holiday, and so it’s fitting that she’ll be given a truly royal welcome; by the people of Sydney and also by Dami – who has also been breaking records this year,” said Adam Armstrong, managing director, Royal Caribbean Australia & NZ.
Following her historic Eurovision performance this year, at which she achieved the highest ever Eurovision score for Australia, Dami Im has wowed audiences around the world with her impressive vocals and highly acclaimed singles.
Dami will perform to guests of the inaugural arrival event in Two70, the multidimensional venue on Ovation of the Seas that is an expansive lounge boasting 270 degree ocean views by day, and becomes an immersive, multimedia entertainment spectacular at night, fusing technology with entertainment using robotic video-screens, dramatic digital projection and high-flying aerialists and performers.
Ovation of the Seas will sail past The Heads and into spectacular Sydney Harbour at approximately 5am on Thursday 15th December, before arriving at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in The Rocks at 6am. The ship will spend the night in Sydney, departing at 4pm on Friday 16th December for her first Sydney roundtrip cruise.
“There are plenty of places around the harbour with amazing views of Ovation’s arrival, so make sure you head down to the waterfront and catch this moment in history taking place for yourself,” Adam said.
