Azamara Journey is set to make waves when the boutique 690-guest liner arrives in Sydney for the first time on 19 February 2017.
Azamara Club Cruises’ second luxury ship is fresh from an extensive multi-million dollar makeover and delivers Azamara’s unique destination immersive style of cruising, with late night and overnight stays in ports and an expanded land offering, so guests can stay longer and experience more.
“We are very excited to be welcoming Azamara Journey to Australia for the first time. She is a completely new ship compared to her sister Azamara Quest who made her debut last summer, after a $25 million make over in April,” said Adam Armstrong, managing director, Azamara Club Cruises Australia & NZ.
“We worked with several of the world’s leading designers to ensure she not only looks and feels incredible, but also offer all the modern amenities our discerning travellers expect.”
The all-encompassing refresh saw Azamara Journey’s 345 Suites and Staterooms undergo an elegant and sophisticated redesign. Beautiful new Spa Suites, located adjacent to the refreshed Sanctum Spa have been added, offering exclusive spa amenities. Each bathroom of these coveted suites is like a mini spa; showers have glass walls offering spectacular views while the outdoor soaking tub overlooks the ocean.
As well as completely reimagined public spaces and staterooms, additional new features include The Patio, an al fresco poolside dining area; The Living Room, a casual bar, dining and entertainment room with beautiful views; and new pervasive Wi-Fi with faster speeds to accommodate streaming.
Known for its focus on destination immersion, Azamara Club Cruises recently announced the evolution of this position with Stay Longer, Experience More – delivering opportunities for guests to personally connect with the destinations they visit. Azamara Journey’s maiden Australian season will see more than half of all her port calls staying late into the evening or overnight, while her new Cruise Global, Connect Local land discoveries program will deliver personalised and authentic experiences, by day and night.
The 690-guest Azamara Journey arrives in Sydney at 7am concluding her 18-night Singapore to Sydney voyage. She’ll stay docked overnight, and depart at 5pm on Monday 20 February on a 16-night New Zealand voyage.
Her maiden visit to Sydney is expected to inject almost half a million dollars into the local economy while her Australian season will see more than $2.85 million injected into the national economy in passenger spend alone.
Azamara Journey returns again to Sydney on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 March 2017.
