Cruise reviews by passengers
have been used to name the
world’s most popular ships.
ROYAL CARIBBEAN’S OASIS OF THE SEAS IS THE
‘best overall’ ship, according to the first
annual Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice
Awards.
The results were based on thousands of
online reviews written last year by members
of cruise news website
www.cruisecritic.co.uk.
Despite being based in the US, the 5,400-
passenger Oasis was also voted by the
largely British reviewers as the best big ship
for cabins, dining, embarkation,
entertainment, value, fitness and public
rooms.
Thomson Spirit (launched almost 30 years
ago in 1982) was ranked best ship in the
mid-sized class, as well as topping the
category for dining, entertainment, value,
service and shore excursions.
Azamara Club Cruises’ 694-passenger
Azamara Journey was named best small ship
overall and best in its class for cabins,
dining, embarkation, public rooms and
value.
Twin sister Azamara Quest was also a
British favourite, coming second overall and
top in the fitness and shore excursions
categories.
Best for families, applied to all ship sizes,
went to Celebrity Eclipse, followed closely by
Norwegian Gem, Oasis of the Seas and P&O
Cruises’ Ventura.
