PEREGRINE Adventures has revealed it will add Africa to its Adventure Cruising program in 2019 as the company continues to evolve and expand its popular cruise brand off the back of rapid growth.
After launching in Europe in 2017 and expanding to Asia in 2018, Peregrine’s Adventure Cruising product will extend to another continent in 2019 with the latest 2018/19 Adventure Cruising brochure featuring voyages from Spain to Senegal and Turkey to Thailand.
Guests will be able to choose from six African voyages, including the chance to cruise into the wilds of West Africa’s rivers from Senegal to The Gambia or sail around the picturesque islands of the Seychelles.
“Our travellers have responded to a style on the water that is akin to our style on the land – authentic and low-impact travel,” Peregrine Adventure Cruising general manager Filippos Venetopoulos said.
“This market does not think of themselves as traditional cruise customers,” Venetopoulos said, adding that the Australian market was up around 35 per cent so far this year.
Peregrine Adventure Cruising Africa itineraries include:
An eight-day Cruising the Seychelles Islands itinerary, priced from $3460* per person twin share, is a low-impact way to experience the Indian Ocean archipelago
An eight-day Cruising Safari: West Africa cruise, priced from $3140* per person twin share, encompasses UNESCO-listed deltas, chimpanzee sightings and dolphin estuaries, as well as villages which come alive with music and dance.
“Our West Africa voyage visits villages and towns untouched by the notion of tourism. Take Kuntaur, where guests enjoy a cinema night with the locals. Kuntaur lacks electricity for the most part so our guests get to experience cinema with popcorn that has been handmade by locals,” Venetopoulos said.
To celebrate the release of the new brochure, Peregrine is offering up to 15 per cent off select Adventure Cruising itineraries until 19 August 2018.
An eight-day Cruising Thailand & Malaysia – Phuket to Penang trip departing December 15 2018 is priced from $3141* per person twin share (was $3695 per person – a saving of $554). The magical cruise visits the pristine islands, hidden waterfalls and laidback villages scattered along the Andaman Sea between Phuket and Penang.
The eight-day North Vietnam Coastal Cruising – Hanoi to Danang is priced from $2856* per person twin share (was $3360 per person – a saving of $504). Departing 6 April and 2 May 2019, the trip starts in Hanoi and visits Halong Bay, historic Hue, and the important war sites of Vinh Moc and Khe Sanh, as well as the largely unknown natural paradise of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.
Peregrine Adventures’ Adventure Cruising range is operated by small ships with no more than 50 travellers onboard, enabling travellers to visit the small ports that big ships can’t get to and explore little-known towns and villages. All charter cruises are accompanied by Peregrine Adventures’ local leaders and include onboard kayaks, all transfers and excursions, as well as most meals.
Peregrine prides itself on a low-impact travel model and at the start of the year banned single-use plastics onboard its Adventure Cruises, with passengers given reusable water bottles and bags to reduce waste. Peregrine will continue to carbon offset all trips through a range of renewable energy projects.
