P&O CRUISES made a little bit of history over
the weekend, with the arrival of Pacific Jewel
at Mare in the Loyalty Islands (pictured below).
Arriving on Sunday, Jewel became the first
passenger ship to take cruisers to the
undiscovered paradise in the Pacific Islands.
Located north of New Caledonia, Mare rolled
out the proverbial red carpet for guests- a new
special jetty and boardwalk which allowed
Jewel to dock, and provided guests with easy
access to the Island’s beautiful clear waters.
“Mare is one of the rare places on Earth that
remains truly unspoiled,” said Ann Sherry, CEO of
Carnival Australia, which operates P&O Cruises.
P&O is scheduled to make five calls to Mare
this year, including a nine-night Pacific Islands
cruise departing Sydney on 15 July.
