HERITAGE Line is launching Heritage Line Anouvong (CW 04 Feb 2020), its first-ever luxury boutique vessel on the upper Mekong in Laos, on 27 Aug.
The cruise line will finally offer its three Anouvong (pictured) Mekong voyages, after the initial planned launch in the summer of 2020 was delayed due to COVID-19.
Anouvong’s shorter cruise will be a three-night journey between the Thai-Lao border town of Huay Xai (or vice versa) to Luang Prabang.
The ship will also sail a seven-night cruise downstream from Huay Xai to Vientiane, and a nine-night itinerary from Vientiane to Huay Xai, cruising upstream.
The cruises promise mountainous river landscapes, visits to remote local villages with ethnic communities, and centuries-old culture.
Destination highlights include a traditional welcome ceremony with villagers, a soft jungle trek, kayaking on the Mekong, and an exploration of the famous Pak Ou Caves.
Longer cruises also include a guided tour of Luang Prabang.
On board, there will be tailored lectures and presentations which offer insights about the history and culture of Laos.
Included in the cruises are full onboard dining (including mineral water, tea, coffee, and welcome drink), all excursion & admission fees, an English-speaking guide on- and offshore, kayaking, events, workshops, and presentations.
