AFTER fifteen years of restriction, cruise lines
will now be able to plan itineraries which take
guests along the Nile from Cairo to Aswan.
Over the past 15 years Egyptian authorities
have banned cruise lines from sailing the
748km stretch of the Nile between Cairo and
Luxor due to security and safety concerns,
coupled with low water levels.
The lifting of this restriction means that
cruises will be able to take guests all the way
from Cairo to Aswan in the South of Egypt,
instead of having to break the journey up with
added land touring segments.
