The Act is set to be extended for a further two years.
The Australian Government has extended provisions for cruise ships under the pivotal Coastal Trading Act, Cruise Weekly understands.
The arrangement effectively allows international cruise lines to operate in Australian waters, and has been extended until 31 December 2026, after it was set to expire at the end of the year.
The extension was welcomed by Cruise Lines International Association, which said it provides the necessary clarity for the industry.
