PRINCESS Cruises has leaked details about
new ‘top deck’ features set to debut onboard
Royal Princess when she launches in June
2013.
Currently under construction, the 3,600-
guest ship will have an emphasis on outdoor
entertainment options, with her top deck set
to include a dramatic SeaWalk, as well as pool
areas, an evening light show and a larger
Movies Under the Stars poolside theatre.
Measuring over 18 metres in length, the glass
bottomed SeaWalk will extend more than
eight metres beyond the starboard side of the
ship, and 40 metres above the ocean.
A SeaView Bar will also extend over the
ocean for guests to enjoy a cocktail and a birds
eye view of the waves.
Adjacent the SeaWalk will be Royal Princess’
Fresh Water Pools area, which will include a
host of lounging options (such as garden-style
furniture and chaise lounges), as well as palm
trees, and two fresh water pools bookending
an island area between them.
The pool area will also play host to live
games and music, and of an evening the
poolside island will become a stage to
showcase an interactive sound and light show
featuring dancing fountains.
On select evenings, the island will be
transformed into an outdoor dance floor for
the Ultimate Deck Party, replete with DJ
spinning from two decks above.
Meanwhile Royal Princess’ poolside theatre
screen will be 30% larger than the ones on
other Princess vessels, and will play movies,
sporting events and concerts for guests
reclining on chaise lounges complete with
pillows and free popcorn, or while relaxing in
the ship’s giant whirlpool spas.
