NEW Zealand-based Heritage Expeditions is
excited to report that NASA satellite images
indicate a volcanic eruption on remote Heard
Island – which its Spirit of Enderby is set to visit
next month on a ‘South Indian Ocean’ voyage
departing Fremantle on 08 Nov.
Heard Island is about 4000km southwest of
Australia, with Heritage returning to the
wildlife-rich uninhabited subantarctic island
for the first time since 2002.
