CRUISE and Maritime Voyages Australia has released its new brochure and is now taking bookings for the 2014-15 Australian season for the premium cruise ship Astor. (Note: This is an adjusted schedule to one preliminary circulated in December)
There are even more chances to enjoy the features of the 620-passenger cruise ship when she returns later this year. She will be offering 17 return itineraries from Fremantle port.
Highlights of the 2014-15 Australian season include two 10-night cruises (from $1354 pp) that will stop overnight in port in Bali, Indonesia. The first of these, departing on Saturday, December 20, will allow passengers to wake up on Christmas morning in Bali.
The three-night Australia Day (from $659 pp) cruise is also expected to be popular after the success of the festivities during Astor’s inaugural season Down Under; just one of five 3-night itineraries.
Astor guests can also again enjoy a circumnavigation of Australia (from $4024 pp), taking 33 nights to visit the country’s major cities, as well as others and will again stop over in Bali.
Plus for those unable to get away for longer than one night, or who may want to try out Astor’s facilities before deciding which of the various itineraries to book onto, there are five overnight in-port events to choose from next summer, including the Welcome Party on Wednesday, December 13 (from $159 pp).
CMV has also secured the London port of Tilbury as the departure point for the southbound cruise, setting sail on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 (from $4049 pp). This cruise will take in popular ports in France, Spain, South Africa and Mauritius en-route to Astor’s arrival into Fremantle.
Astor will take her time in returning to Tilbury London. Departing from Fremantle on Monday, March 16, 2015, she will sail for 46 nights via the African coast. Visits to Port Louis (Mauritius), Cape Town (South Africa) and Casablanca (Morocco) will be highlights.
“Astor is enjoying a successful first season’s based in Australia, but we have also listened to the feedback that we have received from our passengers – and we have made a few tweaks to the schedule for her second coming,” CMV Australia marketing manager John Elderfield said.
“We are giving more people the chance to enjoy the premium facilities of Astor when she returns in December 2014, with three more itineraries leaving from and returning to Fremantle.
“Astor will then return to London, to the Tilbury port, which CMV is proud to add to its schedule.
“The southbound cruise to Europe will be a 46-night voyage of discovery of some amazing ports, found along a spectacular coast.
“Astor will arrive back into Europe on the first of May, as the warm weather begins to kick in and the northern hemisphere holiday season starts to kick into full gear.”
