THIS week, Princess Cruises is celebrating its
tenth anniversary of Australian cruising, having
first arrived in Sydney Harbour with the
680-guest Pacific Princess on 18 November 2002.
Pacific Princess returned each summer for
the following four years, and her success was
followed by another milestone for Princess
Cruises’, with the cruise line deploying its first
full-time ship in Australian waters, Sun
Princess, in October 2007.
Sun Princess was joined one year late by a
second full-time ship, her sister Dawn Princess,
and now a full decade since the cruise line’s
first foray, it bases three ships based in
Australian waters: Dawn Princess, Sun Princess
and Sea Princess.
In addition, Diamond Princess is also deployed
here for a season of NZ cruises over summer,
whilst both Pacific Princess and Ocean Princess
will visit during the 2012-13 summer months.
