OF all the places on this planet one would expect to meet a member of the Monaco Royal Family, Fiji would probably not make the top ten list. But that’s exactly where a group of very lucky Captain Cook Cruises passengers bumped into the newly wed Prince Albert of Monaco and his wife Princess Charlene. The cruisers were enjoying an idyllic day near Nabukero (adjacent to the Blue Lagoon and Sawa I Lau caves) in Fiji, during their seven night Yasawa Islands Cruise, when they bumped into the Royal pair, who happened to be visiting the nearby Ratu Namasi School. The couple were in Fiji taking a break on the Prince’s private yacht between France’s Rugby World Cup Semi Final and Final matches, and delighted locals and Captain Cook cruisers by posing for photos, before the Prince engaged in a game of touch rugby with the school students. The prince is pictured above (in the centre- wearing the orange and white board shorts) surrounded by Captain Cook Cruises’ passengers.
