Cruise from $259 a Day in an Ocean-View Stateroom for 6 Months including all Onboard Meals
Cruise Express is offering travellers the opportunity to visit 92 ports in 45 countries on five continents on one of the world’s longest-ever cruises – a half-year-long ‘World Odyssey’ voyage in 2016.
While most world cruises last less than 100 days, the Oceania Cruises voyage aboard the 30,000-ton luxury cruise liner, Insignia, circumnavigates the planet at a more leisurely pace over 180 days, with overnight stays in 12 ports, allowing travellers more time to experience the exotic destinations enroute.
Crossing the equator four times, the epic, 47,068 nautical mile voyage will begin at Miami on January 4, 2016, before sailing through the Caribbean to South America, with visits to ports in Venezuela, Grenada, Barbados and Brazil. Insignia will then cross the Atlantic Ocean and visit ports on the west and east coasts of Africa, including an overnight stay in Cape Town. Destinations in Asia appear next on the horizon, including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Hong Kong, China, Japan and Indonesia. Familiar soil Down Under will greet Australian passengers with visits to Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, Sydney and Hobart. The Pacific sector of the voyage includes New Zealand, Tonga, Tahiti and Hawaii, with Insignia then visiting California and ports in Central America before returning to Miami via the Panama Canal.
The special cruise also includes five exclusive, shoreside experiences, including a tour of Myanmar’s ancient temples, a Balinese temple feast complete with traditional costumes, cultural dances, music and local cuisine, and a 1940s-themed evening in Pearl Harbour, Hawaii, aboard the Battleship Missouri, where General Douglas MacArthur accepted the official surrender of the Japanese forces in September 1945, marking the end of World War II. A water puppet show in Vietnam and an exclusive tour of the 2000 year-old Great Wall of China is also included as part of the cruise.
Guests on the voyage will also receive US$900 per cabin for spending onboard Insignia, pre-paid gratuities and a night in a luxury Miami hotel before the cruise. Fares are available from A$46,670 per person, twin-share (equal to $259 per day) in an ocean-view stateroom, if booked before December 31, 2014. Flights to and from Miami are extra and can be booked through Cruise Express. Call Cruise Express on 1300 764 509 or visit www.cruiseexpress.com.au.
