A voyage half way around the world from Florida to Australia including the Pacific’s most idyllic islands is being offered by Cruise Express.
A new 44-night package includes a flight from Australia to Fort Lauderdale on April 28, 2015, a night at the Hilton Marina Fort Lauderdale and a 43-night cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Sydney aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Legend of the Seas.
The voyage by the 70,000-ton ship, which underwent a $50 million refurbishment in 2013, is a prelude to Legend of the Seas’ return to Asia-Pacific waters in 2015, including a maiden five-month season from Brisbane from December, 2015 – the first time Royal Caribbean has homeported a ship in Australia outside Sydney.
Legend of the Seas will visit 17 ports in Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, California, Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji and New Caledonia during her voyage from Fort Lauderdale to Sydney, with the journey including a transit of one of the world’s greatest man-made wonders, the Panama Canal.
The voyage will include some of the most popular destinations of the Pacific including five ports on four of Hawaii’s islands – the Big Island, Maui, Oahu and Kauai – as well as three destinations in Tahiti – Moorea, Bora Bora and Papeete. Suva and the idyllic Isle of Pines also feature on the tropical-themed itinerary.
The 2076-passenger Legend of the Seas offers two pools, four jacuzzis, eight bars and lounges, a 800-seat theatre, a rock climbing wall, outdoor movie screen, two-deck grand dining room and an atrium with acrobatic shows.
The 44-night fly/cruise package from Cruise Express is available from $7099 per person, twin-share, the equivalent of $161 per day, including all onboard meals and entertainment.
