Experience the beauty of the Mediterranean as you navigate the Corinth Canal with Silversea. The Corinth Canal, which measures approximately 21.5 metres wide at its base, connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. With cliffs flanking either side of the canal, and due to the narrow width, the canal is impassable for many cruise ships. In 1997 the Corinth Canal suffered a landslide, decreasing the water’s depth, and until this year, Silver Cloud and Silver Wind were unable to transit through the canal.
Silver Wind and Silver Cloud are two of the select few ships that are able to travel through the waterway. With only 296 guests on board, these voyages offer an exclusive opportunity to experience the best of this unique part of the world.
