The recent launch of our 2010 reports
on passengers from the Australian and
New Zealand markets has certainly
caused a stir with just about everyone
who is close to the industry falling short
on their prediction for what the end result
was going to be.
With 466,692 Australians and 42,886
New Zealanders taking a cruise holiday
in 2010 this region is officially the fastest
growing cruise source market in the world
– growth that every person reading this
publication will have played a part in –
well done!
With consumer awareness of cruising
also growing, the launch of the latest
cruise passenger statistics will play a
valuable part in attracting even more
potential cruisers looking to discover what
all the fuss is about!
For our trade partners, the figures also
provide a benchmark to assess their own
performance.
In doing this you need to keep in mind
that the growth is based on passenger
numbers, not revenue.
Copies of the statistics reports are
available from the ICCA website.

for NZ www.cruising.org.nz – then click

As this issue of Cruise Weekly hits your
inbox I will be joined by a group of ICCA
retail members in Florida at Cruise3sixty.
This is the world’s largest cruise
conference dedicated to the retail trade
and is an annual event that attracts
thousands of cruise focused travel
consultants from all over the world.
Next week’s column will include a wrap
of this exciting event.
