TV Chef Karen Martini and former international cricket player Brett Lee (pictured) will headline Cunard Line’s Australian-themed voyages next year.
The two Aussie icons will set sail on Queen Elizabeth, with both seven-night voyages offering onboard talks & events, themed shore experiences, and a celebration of Australian culture through the lenses of food & sport.
Martini will headline the second edition of the Great Australian Culinary Voyage, with the inaugural itinerary having disembarked earlier this week.
While on board, Martini will take over Queen Elizabeth’s premium dining venue, The Verandah Restaurant, for three exclusive fine dining events.
Martini’s food will appear in the Britannia Restaurant with a selection of dishes offered throughout the sailing, and she will also speak in the Royal Court Theatre.
Martini will be joined by additional exciting gastronomic talent to be announced in the coming months.
Departing Melbourne on 05 Jan 2024, the Great Australian Culinary Voyage will see Queen Elizabeth chart a round trip itinerary to Adelaide and Hobart.
Meanwhile, Lee, recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in the world during his career, will spearhead the inaugural ‘Voyage of Sporting Greats’.
While on board, Lee will regale guests with tales from his impressive career through insightful Q&A sessions and an exclusive activity, to be announced shortly.
Departing on 13 Feb 2024, Cunard’s inaugural Voyage of Sporting Greats will sail a roundtrip from Sydney to Tasmania and back over seven nights, with calls in Hobart, Port Arthur, and Melbourne.
Lee will lead a line-up of Australian sports icons, with more talent to be announced shortly.
Commercial Director Katrina McAlpine said she was pleased to be expanding on the success of this year’s themed cruises.
“This really is testament to our guests and their desire to discover extraordinary experiences, something Cunard constantly seeks to create and deliver on,” she said.
“To cater for our guests’ craving for premium culinary events, we are going to offer a raft of highlights and creative talent during the 2024 culinary voyage.”
