The New Zealand cruise sector is celebrating the arrival of P&O’s Pacific Explorer this morning, marking the return of cruising to NZ after more than two and a half years.
The ship was welcomed by excited locals, business owners and industry stakeholders, including Carnival Australia President Marguerite Fitzgerald who thanked the Ardern Government for enabling the recommencement of cruising.
“Pacific Explorer‘s arrival in Tamaki Makarau, Auckland today is a signal that cruise tourism is poised to make a significant contribution to the restoration of the tourism economy,” she said.
