Dawn was originally due to leave the P&O Cruises fleet in Feb next year.
The departure of Pacific Dawn from the P&O Cruises Australia fleet has been brought forward after the cruise line reached an agreement to sell the ship during its pause in operations.
Pacific Dawn will now leave in the coming weeks, with P&O Australia to assist guests who were booked on the ship from 17 Dec, with all cruises post that date now cancelled.
Dawn was initially due to leave the fleet next year, when it would be renamed Amy Johnson and sail for Cruise & Maritime Voyages.
P&O Australia President Sture Myrmell hailed Pacific Dawn, and apologised to guests for the inconvenience, acknowledging how challenging it had been given the continued extension of the operational pause since Mar.
During her P&O Australia service from 2007 to 2020, Pacific Dawn carried 1.2 million guests.
