THE ONE AND ONLY DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY LAST weekend officially named P&O Cruises World Cruising’s new Adonia in a gala ceremony at Southampton. “I have had the most exciting career imaginable, but to be invited to be Godmother to a cruise ship is something very special and very personal,” said the famous British songstress. The adults-only Adonia offers a more intimate style of cruising, with capacity for 710 passengers meaning she’s small enough to reach more obscure ports of call. She’s currently on her maiden voyage, a 16-night Western Mediterranean cruise.
