MORE than 3,600 cruise passengers arrived in Darwin today after Discovery Princess docked at Fort Hill wharf during her maiden Australian voyage (CW 03 Nov).
The ship arrived at 5.30am and will remain in the city for 12 hours, giving pax plenty of time to explore the CBD and local tourist destinations.
“While other states and territories have seen a downturn, the Territory has bucked the national trend as the only jurisdiction to record an increase in cruise-related activity,” said Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Marie-Clare Boothby.
“It’s a huge win for local tourism operators, as passengers explore all corners – from our jumping crocodile cruises…to the Military Museum and local tours.”
