In the wake of the New York christening this month (November 14, 2014) of the world’s third-largest cruise ship, the 4200-passenger Quantum of the Seas, Cruise Express is offering Australians the chance to sail aboard the ‘game-changing’ megaliner next April.
Launched by Royal Caribbean International, the new generation, 168,666-ton cruise ship stretches for more than a third of a kilometre (348m) and boasts a skydiving simulator, a flying trapeze school, bumper car arena, 19 restaurants and cafes and a spectacular, glass observation capsule suspended 91m above the sea. Dubbed the world’s first ‘smart ship’, Quantum of the Seas also offers super-fast internet, robot bartenders in some lounges, wristbands that open cabin doors and make onboard purchases and a speedy, digital check-in process aimed at reducing the terminal to ship boarding procedure to just 10 minutes.
Cruise Express has released a special fly, stay and cruise package that includes a flight from Australia to New York on April 29, 2015, two nights in a deluxe Big Apple hotel and a 27-night voyage aboard Quantum of the Seas from New York City to Dubai via eight ports in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Jordan. Two nights in a luxury Dubai hotel are also included as well as a flight from Dubai back to Australia.
Including private car transfers in New York and Dubai, the 33-night fly, stay and cruise package is available from $6999 per person, twin-share.
