CRUISE FANS HAVE BEEN GRANTED ACCESS TO
Grand Princess’ drydock transformation, via
the launch of a daily video journal.
Hosted by Grand Princess’ cruise director,
Martyn Moss, the diary will chronicle the 24-
day drydock with daily updates until 04 May.
The ship’s transformation is taking place at
the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport,
Bahamas, and involves around 1,400
workers who will install new features
including a Piazza atrium (complete with the
International Cafe and Vines Bar).
New features will also include a Leaves Tea
Lounge and Library for patrons to read whilst
they enjoy a tea blend, as well as a new
nightclub One5, Alfredo’s pizzeria and the
line’s signature Crown Grill.
The renovation will also see the removal of
the iconic Skywalkers Nightclub (a move
which Princess says will improve the ship’s
operational performance), as well as the
addition of seven new suites, a remodeled
the Horizon Court, Lotus Spa and chapel.
Grand Princess is scheduled to return to
service on 05 May in Fort Lauderdale where
she will embark on a transatlantic crossing
before arriving in her northern summer
homeport of Southampton.
