Strong ongoing growth for American Cruise
Lines has seen the line announce plans to build
four new riverboats to be placed into service
gradually over the next four years.
Each of the vessels – all un-named at present
– will offer capacity for up to 200 passengers
and features larger staterooms with private
balconies and spacious lounge venues, similar
to facilities available on the line’s new Queen
of the Mississippi flagship.
Construction has commenced on the first
two ships, with plans to commence operations
on the first in the second quarter of 2015.
At least one of the new build vessels will be
deployed on the Columbia and Snake Rivers
travelling from the western coast to the Idaho
border, built especially for northwest sailings.
Other vessels will be positioned on the
Mississippi River to facilitate capacity increases.
