Carnival Cruise Line has thrown the spotlight on its onboard entertainment, with an exciting playlist of new activities debuting on its Australian-based ships, Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend over the coming months.
From life-sized board games to bocce courts and a Build A Bear Workshop At Sea experience, the leading cruise line has found even more ways for holidaymakers to have fun on a Carnival cruise.
Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Australia Jennifer Vandekreeke said the latest additions reflected the cruise line’s passion for delivering world-class entertainment as well as Australians’ enthusiasm for getting involved in fun activities.
“Australians are amongst the most outgoing of our passengers. They love participating in all our onboard games and sports, so we’ve decided to expand our entertainment range even further, joining with some leading companies to bring even more exciting and engaging experiences onboard our ships,” Ms Vandekreeke said.
Cruisers of all ages will love the latest twist in Carnival’s partnership with games giant Hasbro, which will brings classics like Trivial Pursuit, Guess Who and Cranium to life with oversized props at play around the ships throughout each cruise.
One of the world’s most famous murder mystery games, Cluedo, will also take to the high seas, with Professor Plum and his infamous colleagues appearing as costumed characters to present their alibis at the beginning of each cruise. Passengers will then be able to solve the crime by drawing on clues given to them throughout their voyage.
Other new Carnival entertainment offerings include:
• The opportunity for children of all ages to create their very own furry friend – complete with a heart, a special wish and a variety of outfits and accessories – with the Build-A-Bear Workshop at Sea experience, now available on Carnival Legend.
• Inflatable Bocce courts rolling out across the Carnival fleet, reflecting a resurgence in popularity for the traditional Italian bowls game.
• 80s Rock and Glow theme nights which celebrate the pop music, fashion and fluoro of the much-loved decade.
• A chance to unleash your artistic spirit at the new Creative Cove on Carnival Spirit which will provide a program of events through each cruise, from family arts and craft sessions to jewellery-making, word art and professional painting classes.
Also on the horizon for the local ships will be a new Lip Sync Battle, based on the hugely popular US TV show. Rolling out in late 2017, the battle will see two guests compete for the Lip Sync title throughout their cruise with a final battle, complete with choreography, costumes and sets, determining the winner.
Ms Vandekreeke said the cruise line would be making it even easier for Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend guests to join in all the new activities with the rollout of its Carnival Hub app in mid-2017, enabling guests to tailor their own entertainment schedule on their mobile device.
