With the recent announcement from Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) that Carnival Spirit will be plying her trade in our local waters from next year, we have got to be looking forward to the battle lines being drawn by the different brands that are based here! The branding of CCL as the “fun ships” is a bit of a giveaway as to who their target audience is! Add to this, tag lines found throughout promotional material that suggest “totally awesome” is what you will experience, then my guess is they will be honing in on the family market! From the CCL website – “our ships are built with one goal in mind: to make sure that every time you walk up the gangway, you get the sense that you’re crossing over into a whole new world of fun…”.
