A power outage at Royal Caribbean’s terminal in Galveston has sparked long delays for passengers, seeing Mariner of the Seas’ five-night departure delayed.
The cause of the outage has not been announced, but at the time of publication, Mariner was three hours behind in departing Galveston.
Guests have noted online that equipment inside the cruise terminal is not functioning, including escalators, and it is taking longer than typical to work through customs and security.
The power outage is impacting both disembarking and embarking guests, with one passenger sharing she had to take her own luggage down four flight of stairs.
Mariner is this week set to visit Costa Maya.
