Christchurch based expedition cruise company Heritage Expeditions’ commitment to sustainable tourism has been recognised with its inclusion in the World Responsible Tourism Awards in 2014. Longlisted in the ‘Best for wildlife conservation’ category the nomination is a recognition of the family owned company’s commitment to preserving the natural world. In operation for more than 25 years, Heritage Expeditions runs expedition cruises with a strong conservation focus to the most remarkable and wild areas of the world including the New Zealand Subantarctic Islands, Antarctica, the South Pacific and the Far East of Russia. The shortlist process for the awards will take place this month, with the winners being announced at the World Travel Market in London in November.
