Holland America Line (HAL) has
announced the itineraries for
the first Australia-New Zealand
season of Oosterdam and the
return of Volendam.
FIVE 14-day Australian and New Zealand
cruises are on offer from the two ships,
departing from either Sydney or Auckland and
featuring calls into Melbourne, Burnie, Milford
Sound, Christchurch, and scenic cruising
through Fiordland National Park.
The 2388-passenger Oosterdam will also
undertake four 14-day NZ Discovery voyages
roundtrip from Sydney, as well as a 14-day
Solar Eclipse cruise taking in Brisbane, Hamilton
Island, Townsville, Isle of Pines and Noumea,
and six days in the Tasman and Coral Sea.
Pacific Treasures voyages will sail roundtrip
from Sydney and call into Vanuatu, New
Caledonia and Fiji over 10 to 13 days.
Bookending Oosterdam’s season is a
trans-Pacific crossing departing Seattle on 30
September 2012 or Vancouver on 01 October
2012, and a South Pacific crossing from
Sydney to Seattle or Vancouver departing 13
April 2013.
Volendam will host a 34-day Australia
Circumnavigation roundtrip from Sydney, and
ms Amsterdam is scheduled to cruise a 75-day
Grand Asia and Australia Voyage.
Sailings on the vessels range in length
between 10 and 58 days, visiting a combined
total of 50 ports, and representing a 25%
increase in regional capacity for the cruise
line.
