Ahoy Buccaneers, which offers unique Kimberly motor yacht expeditions one quarter of the cost of more luxurious cruises in the region, is offering two free nights’ accommodation in a Broome resort before or after three Kimberley coast cruises next March.
Bookings for the three 13-day cruises between Broome and Wyndham must be made before December 20, 2016, to receive two free nights’ accommodation pre or post-cruise in a four-star resort in Broome.
The three sailings are one-way cruises offering a comprehensive and in-depth exploration of the 2000 islands, rugged cliffs and spectacular waterfalls found between Broome and Wyndham in the Buccaneer and Bonaparte Archipelagos and the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf.
Ahoy Buccaneer’s 25-guest motor yacht, Oceanic, will sail from Broome to Wyndham on March 1 and 27, 2017, and from Wyndham to Broome on March 14, 2017. The three 13-day adventures are late, wet season cruises when the Kimberley is renowned for summer storms, spectacular light shows, thundering waterfalls and swollen billabongs.
Oceanic’s captain will plot a route through a maze of islands, inlets, peninsulas and rivers, with sights along the way including spectacular King George Falls , Kings Cascades, Horizontal Falls – a result of the second biggest tide in the world and Montgomery Reef.
Because of its small size, Oceanic is able to anchor much closer to the shore than other vessels, with daily excursions that include fishing, swimming in fresh waterholes, beach combing, exploring aboriginal art, beach camp fires and hiking in some of the remotest parts of the Kimberleys. Each free-range adventure is different according to the tides and weather.
The 24m rigged vessel boasts indoor and outdoor dining areas, two lounges and a deck spa. Fresh and healthy cuisine is prepared by an onboard cook who regularly sources much of the menu from what is caught from the sea each day. The atmosphere onboard Oceanic is barefoot casual and friendly, with guests encouraged to help fish or sail the Oceanic. Requests can also be taken on what destinations to sail to. Cruises run from February to November each year.
Broome couple, Shelley and Doug Gould, established Ahoy Buccaneers in 2015 to offer everyday Australians affordable and unhurried adventures along the spectacular Kimberley.
The three 13-day cruises in March, 2017, are available from $4000 per person (twin share or solo travellers) in beach swags or from $5000 per person, twin-share, in double bed cabins. Fares for solo sailors sharing a twin bunk cabin also start at $5000. Fares include meals during the cruise and daily excursions as well as local transfers.
Bookings made for one of the three cruises by December 20, 2016 will receive the free accommodation offer.
