TUI Cruises’ 1900-passenger Mein Schiff
2, which operates roundtrips from Malta for
the German market, will be replaced with the
newly built 2,500-passenger Mein Schiff 3 from
June next year.
The new ship will have 11 restaurants, 12
bars and a 25-metre outdoor pool.
Tourism Minister Karmenu Vella told a
news conference that Tui Cruises flew 2,000
Germans each week to Valetta, which has
served as the ship’s homeport for four years.
In that time, only 7,000 Maltese passengers
took cruises on the Mein Schiff 2.
