SYDNEY has pipped Venice as the favourite
port for Brits to visit, according to a survey
commissioned by the UK’s Passenger Shipping
Association.
The Greatest Journey survey of 2,038 British
cruisers saw both Sydney and New York tie for
equal first in the favourite ports stakes, each
securing 13% of the vote, followed by Venice
with 10%.
Interestingly, the survey, launched to mark
the debut of the UK National Cruise Week, also
found that the major reason Brits cruise is to
create “unforgettable memories”, whilst the
favoured destination for a great journey was
voted as a round-the-world-trip.
