MSC Cruises, rang in the New Year in style as it docked four of its ships together at the world-famous Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro, giving more than 12,000 guests aboard an unimpeded front-row seat of the world’s most spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display.
Guests onboard MSC Splendida, MSC Poesia, MSC Lirica and MSC Armonia were treated to a privileged view of the magnificent 16-minute fireworks display from the four ships’ spacious exterior decks and thousands of balcony cabins. According to Brazilian tourism officials, this New Year’s Eve saw more than 24 tonnes of fireworks launched from 11 ferries moored off the beach. In addition, MSC Cruises guests enjoyed special New Year’s Eve dinners and an exciting night of partying and fun, before a delicious New Year’s Day breakfast the following morning.
