MSC Cruises today announced that its ship MSC Opera, the third of four MSC cruise ships to undergo enhancement as part of the Renaissance Programme, resumed service on Saturday 4 July. She will homeport in Venice for the entire European summer season, further strengthening the company’s offering in the eastern Mediterranean.
To meet demand from guests, MSC Cruises carefully tailored MSC Opera’s itineraries to feature the most popular and beautiful destinations the region has to offer. MSC Opera will sail 14-day itineraries departing from Venice with calls in southern Italy and the region of Puglia, mainland Greece and its islands, the beautiful Black Sea coast of Romania, Sochi and the Russian Riviera, Turkey, the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, and Venice. Departing Venice, she will visit Bari, Athens, Constanta, Sochi, Istanbul, Mykonos, Santorini, Kefalonia, and Dubrovnik.
Having recently completed the Renaissance Programme, MSC Opera now offers more spacious common areas and features 197 new cabins – of which 30 have balconies – increasing the number of total balcony cabins on board to 204. Onboard restaurants and bars have been redesigned, with the buffet now open 20 hours per day. She was also fitted with a stunning new outdoor Spray Park, a fun-filled wet zone with interactive jets, slides and ingenious water features. MSC Opera is the third ship in the MSC Cruises fleet to feature tailor-made areas for children that have been officially designed, equipped, and endorsed by Chicco® and LEGO®.
The €200 million Renaissance Programme is part of €5.1 billion investment plan launched in 2014, which includes four brand new ships to be delivered by STX France and Fincantieri in Italy, between 2017 and 2019, with options for three more by 2022.
