THE former Executive Director of the
International Association of Antarctica Tour
Operators, Denise Landau, has formed a new
expedition cruise company called Sea Voyager
Expeditions.
Launching in February 2012, the cruise line
will focus its itineraries in Colombia, Panama,
Costa Rica and Ecuador.
“We have chosen to specialise in this region
and share its spectacular diversity as
exploration from the sea floor to the
rainforest canopy is possible,” said Landau.
“Our itineraries are as varied as the noisy
monkeys, the myriad of colorful butterflies,
and the thousands of species of birds unique
and endemic to this region,” she added.
Each voyage onboard the 60-passenger M/V
Sea Voyager (winner of Conde Nast’s 2009
Small Ship Award) will be accompanied by a
host of naturalists, scientists, historians,
regional experts and guides.
Itineraries will include nine-day adventures
departing roundtrip from Santa Marta,
Columbia, taking in Tayrona NP, Don Diego
River, Los Flamencos Wildlife Sanctuary and
La Piedras; as well as an adventure from
Colon, Panama, which includes visits to Limon,
Costa Rica, Isla Escudo de Veraguas, San San
Pond Sak, Cahuita NP, and the Gandoca
Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge.
Other exotic itineraries include 12- and 13-
day journeys between Panama and Esmeraldas
or Quito, which take in Las Perlas Islands,
Colombia’s Malaga Bay and Gorgona Island
NP, Panama’s Darien Jungle and Ecuador’s
Cayapas-Mataje Ecological Reserve.
Onboard guests will enjoy air conditioning
and panoramic windows in all staterooms,
lounge, bar, fitness room, library with wifi,
dining room, buffet, covered fore and aft
decks and a platform for getting on/off zodiacs.
