CELEBRITY CRUISES HAS PUT THE KIBOSH ON ANY
newbuilds in the near future, with company
CEO Dan Hanrahan confirming there were
no plans in place for new vessels to be built
after the delivery of Celebrity Reflection in
2012.
“We’ve taken an awful lot (of new capacity)
in a very, very short time,” he said.
“At this point we don’t have any plans for a
new class of ship,” he added.
The news comes after the company’s most
recent christening for Celebrity Silhouette in
Hamburg last weekend.
Despite the moratorium on new builds
Celebrity is however continuing with its
“Solsterization” of its older fleet members.
