STEVE Odell, who less than
two months ago took up his role
as head of the new Norwegian
Cruise Lines Holdings office in
Australia, will now take regional
responsibility (CW breaking
news Fri) with his appointment
as the organisation’s Senior Vice
President and Managing Director
Asia Pacific.
He will continue to operate from
the fledgling Sydney office and
will oversee Australia, NZ, the
South Pacific, Japan, India, South
Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Odell is no stranger to global
responsibilities having joined
Norwegian from his former role
with Silversea where he was
President Europe & Asia Pacific.
He will focus on growing all
three NCLH brands, saying
“demand for quality cruise
products is growing exponentially
across the Asia Pacific region as
more holiday-makers discover
and embrace the wealth of
experiences cruising can offer.
“With three market-leading
cruise brands, including
Norwegian Cruise Line – a leader
in freestyle cruising, Oceania
Cruises – a leader in the upperpremium
cruise segment, and
Regent Seven Seas Cruises – a
leader in luxury cruising, NCLH is
well positioned to respond to this
demand and grow its presence in
the region,” Odell said.
Odell’s appointment is part
of a new leadership structure
which has seen NCLH also name
Frank Medina as Vice President
and Managing Director for Latin
America, as well as David Herrera
as Senior Vice President and
Managing Director China.
The line has confirmed that its
former Asia md William Harber is
no longer with the company.
