Orion Expedition Cruises has
dropped prices for early
bookings on all destinations.
EFFECTIVE immediately, until 30 November,
fares for future cruises on Orion and Orion II
have been significantly reduced.
The new levels of savings vary according to
itinerary, with the biggest discounts on
positioning sailings in Asia.
The half-price voyage is Bangkok to
Singapore via Thailand onboard Orion II.
Japan cruises, also on the new ship, have
been cut by 30-40%.
The most popular destinations, including the
Kimberley, Papua New Guinea, Antarctica and
Borneo, are 15-20% cheaper.
Speaking with Cruise Weekly, the company’s
founder and managing director, Sarina
Bratton, explained that the savings would
reduce each week.
“It is terrific value if you get in early
enough,” she said.
“We want to stimulate demand earlier and
reach clients who have previously thought we
were too expensive for them.”
Bratton said the introduction of second ship
led to a major pricing review as it became
apparent which itineraries sold more slowly
than others.
“Past guests are really attracted to our new
destinations, especially on Orion II, but we
started to realise which ones have most appeal
and which ones do not have 100% capacity.
“We are just building up our Orion II
destinations,” she said.
A national advertising campaign is
promoting the sale with a campaign called ‘It’s
like having a cup of tea with God’.
