Cruise ships with capacity of up to 6,000
passengers will be able to call at the Old San
Juan port in Puerto Rico as a result of a wharf
expansion in the works by the US territory’s
Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla.
As part of a US$8.7 million project, the pier
will be extended by 55 metres and will see a
new baggage inspection office constructed.
Royal Caribbean International’s new
Quantum of the Seas vessel is scheduled to
visit San Juan for the first of nine visits in
December next year.
