COMPAGNIE du Ponant has sold its 226-
passenger Le Diamant to ship management
service provider International Shipping
Partners (ISP).
The luxurious 37-year old Le Diamant has
undergone several incarnations in her
lifetime, having originally been built as a cargo
ship in 1974 before being sold and converted
to a cruise ship Song of Flower in 1986.
Ponant purchased Song of Flower in 2004,
and gave her a complete refurbishment and
makeover from which she emerged Le Diamant.
Complete with an ice classification of 1D the
five deck Le Diamant is able to cruise polar
waters, and features three restaurants, four
bars, a library, sun deck, spa and fitness room.
ISP has now purchased Le Diamant on behalf
of a Bahamian company for an undisclosed
price, with the vessel’s delivery set for
mid-December.
